American Heart Association Blended Learning Options
Learn on your schedule, at your own pace! This option is available for initial or renewal training.
We GUARANTEE that your institution will accept your course completion or Provider card (or eCard) for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Heartsaver First Aid, regardless of whether the course is taken in traditional classroom or blended learning format.
Desert Education Solutions offers the complete package of the online classroom component (Part 1) along with an in-person practice session (Part 2) and skills test (Part 3) for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and all of our Heartsaver courses. This option is ideal for those people who would like to take advantage of more convenient, flexible scheduling in completing their training. Whether you choose the classroom-based route, or the blended learning alternative, you will still be provided with the same course completion or Provider card (or eCard) after completing all three parts.
Note that there is still the in-person, hands-on component that must be completed at one of our facilities before your course completion or Provider card will be issued. There are no 100% online courses that satisfy AHA requirements. These other programs that are not AHA-endorsed are typically not accepted by healthcare agencies, schools, or other organizations that require CPR training. Do not waste your money on a fictitious "certification."
The course completion or Provider card issued at the end of the mandatory in-person skills testing session is identical to the full classroom-based version of the course, and there is no way of knowing whether the participant elected the traditional classroom format or blended learning option. And, yes, it is a real AHA card without markings or other endorsements indicating that the didactic portion was taken online. The AHA has offered this option for many years, and they stand by the results that clearly show that there is better knowledge retention via this route compared to traditional classroom learning.
To get started, simply click on the course completion or Provider card you are interested in below for more information and to purchase the complete blended learning package.
If you already have completed the Online Portion through eLearning.Heart.org and you only need to schedule a skills session, please visit the Class Registration page, and select the "Skills Session Only" option under the course that you have completed the online portion. You must have the certificate in order to complete the in-person skills session.
